George Jacobs, Sr., Martha Carrier, George Burroughs, John
and Elizabeth Proctor, and John Willard were tried for witchcraft and sentenced to be hanged. They were all hanged
on August 19, except for Elizabeth, who was pardoned because she was pregnant.
